Robert Thompson
The George Hotel Yarmouth
One of the aims of Invest IW is to help bring opportunities to investors, businessmen, and individuals to try and match requirements that “fit”.
One of these was to help Robert Thompson, the well know Island Michelin chef to find a new opportunity and home for his skills.

Christopher Scott, one of the partners of Invest IW, was asked by Robert Thompson to see what opportunities were out there on the Island to create a new catering attraction, restaurant etc.
Robert, having worked at Winteringham Fields in North Lincolnshire where he headed up the two Michelin Starred kitchen before gaining one in his own right when the business was sold, aged 23. He then progressed to Cliveden House before joining The Hambrough as Chef Patron in August 2008 where he gained 1 Michelin Star within 4 months.
Robert came to us with a fabulous reputation. It is often said that things are meant to happen in life and this was one of those happenings.
When Robert came to us to talk through how we could help, Christopher Scott was able to put Dianne Thompson and Robert together. Dianne was in the process of buying the George Hotel in Yarmouth at the time. That introduction clicked and as a result Robert is an integral part of the renaissance of the George Hotel. He is also helping to create an inward investment opportunity that produces quality, variety and fine dining.
